Snowblind
03:50
|
|||
The great divide between those asleep and alive -
when death sweeps through those doors
how long will you run?
It's all the way through hell's winter.
Have you fortified your soul?
Absence of God and Lucifer
bitter blizzard of yourself.
The great divide - it could swallow me alive.
I've gotta make up my mind. Harsh truth of blinding light.
Cold. Collapsed. Buried up to my eyes in the snow.
When that bell tolls there won't be any swords
so you better sing and drown it out,
find the words or bite the bullet.
A way through the crushing white -
I am finding mine.
Are you awake or are you snowblind? Snowblind.

Sowing Song
02:11
|
|||
If two hands are what it takes
I will cut myself from this disease.
Death to spectators and the greed of pretenders.
I'll bring you down. I'll bury your crown.
For shame. You're the snake in this garden. Do you get it?
Understand consistency's the reigning champ and you're a disappearing act.
I've watched you come before and now I'll watch you go.
You reap what you sow
so rightfully, you can't call these seeds your own.
It's time to grow.

Violent Highways

I understand life like a wanderer does.
To fall in these holes while exploding with love.
I throw my anchor out and somebody cuts the line abrupt.
Pavement remains untouched.
No rest. No warmth. No shield from the storm.
I offered my soul to the devil and he would not take it.
I showed Mary my heart and she would not face it.
I travel with liars and thieves
and shadow widows in grief.
Decay upon decay.
The price that each of us pays on these violent highways
without right, without wrong, without justice, without song.

The network that ties us all in loathes and baits our masses.
They have our heads marked and we can't give in.
There's no name for the fear in the air and where our father's vision was impaired.
We now know the enemy is unknown and his fists they do not waver.
Tension runs free and pure while rabid dogs lick its wounds.
There is no stopping now. This is the only way out
and we, we must assume we are the only cure.
I am the progenitor of rage and I will protect everything they can't take from me,
fueled by this mean streak.
I am revenge. I am fury American. In defense of the death hour.

August comes fast with hearts in a stranger's hands.
Giving rocks back to the river, always had a feeling I'd end up here.
A plane flies by, spells trust with its exhaust and I wonder where the next few steps go, nod off an ironic laugh.
Does the soul break? and what does it take to make a happy ending from a dead history. I was staring at the sunset. I couldn't feel a thing. I said "nothing in this life is as pure as it seems." So here I stand though I may die.
I sincerely meant that we would walk together in our misery, but now I believe that your pain is for you and mine is for me.
Carry me away,
for those in love with loving their own hearts away.
